Param, a man from a small Punjabi village, attends the Dusshera festival and encounters Jasmeet. He is instantly drawn to her ambition and charm, and their connection begins to spark a romance. The festival setting grounds the first spark of their story.

To get closer to Jasmeet, Param hatches a plan with a friend to arrange a marriage for one of Jasmeet's friends. The goal is to bring him into her social circle and, indirectly, into her life. This scheme foreshadows the lengths Param will go to win her affection.

During the time of the wedding, Param and Jasmeet spend time together and express their growing feelings. The encounter deepens their emotional connection and marks the transition from acquaintance to romance. Their affection becomes more than a passing crush.

Jasmeet secures a part-time job at a jewellery store, which triggers resistance from her conservative relatives. Her grandfather and older brother oppose her employment while still supporting her independence in principle. The conflict foreshadows the societal pressures they face.

Param persuades his father to send a marriage proposal to Jasmeet's family. Jasmeet's grandfather agrees but imposes a condition: Jasmeet should not work after marriage. This constraint challenges Jasmeet's aspirations and fuels tension.

Jasmeet expresses a desire to settle in London. Her friend Harpreet, who lives there, provides the contact of an illegal immigration officer who can help them. The plan introduces a risky, non-traditional path to a UK life.

Param reveals to Jasmeet that the officer suggested marrying a British citizen to gain a visa, with plans to later marry Jasmeet and live in London. Jasmeet then visits a lawyer and initially agrees for Param to get married, but Param refuses this course of action at that point.

Param goes to Gurpreet to apologise publicly. Gurpreet forgives him but insists Param's father must apologise as well; Param refuses to accept that demand. The conflict underscores the stubbornness that blocks their path to union.

The officer informs Jasmeet that a job in the UK has been secured for her. She calls Param to share the good news, even as the looming marriage plan continues to hang over their future. Hope resurges alongside practical caveats.

At the airport, Jasmeet blindsides Param by revealing she is pursuing a marriage visa. The officer has arranged a man named Samar Singh Sandhu to pose as her husband to please his dying grandfather. The scheme marks a turning point in their relationship.

Jasmeet travels to London and Param follows. In London, he meets his neighbor Alisha, who becomes a supportive ally in his effort to win back Jasmeet. They begin adapting to life in a new country.

Jasmeet starts realizing the mistakes of the plan. She confesses to Sam the truth, who advises her to return to Param. The emotional strain deepens as both navigate their complicated arrangement.

At the Indian Embassy and beyond, Jasmeet and Param confront their choices and ultimately are reunited. Their separation and trials give way to a renewed commitment and a hopeful future.
