The film treats Sherlock Holmes as a fictional creation, but the building where his flat would be is run by detective Shirley Holmes. She solves crimes, runs a museum for believers, and is accompanied by a phonograph playing Livanov series music. With a female Watson, she fends off a Scotland Yard inspector and a parody Spanish Latin‑lover.
