Radio star Kitty Moran, long married to her partner Jack, discovers she is pregnant but then suffers a miscarriage. Seeking a fresh start, the duo converts their radio act into an early television series while pursuing adoption. Eventually they acquire a girl in a somewhat back‑alley manner.
