A remote mountain village in northern Fujian is thrown into chaos when a python swallows the groom's father during a wedding. The snake, believed to be a vengeful python king, unleashes terror upon the community. The film draws inspiration from ancient Fujianese traditions, rooted in the Qin and Han dynasties, where snakes were revered as ancestral gods and totems. This practice has fostered unique local customs and myths, including the popular legend of “The Long Snake Immortal Marries His Wife,” which serves as the basis for this adaptation.
