Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?

That night, Pearl is invited to the hostess's house. Pearl proves to be a Nightwalker and is bitten, triggering her transformation into the Nightwalker Queen. Her minions present her with a captive human as her first meal.

Sometime later, Leah, a college student, works on a play directed by James Franco and befriends Pearl. Leah soon falls in love with Pearl, much to her mother Julie's dismay. The relationship sets the stage for the conflict between nightwalkers and the human world.

The Nightwalker faction operates with a predatory code, preying on abusive men and forcibly inducting women into the group by biting them and withholding feeding. Pearl's leadership tightens control over the new members as the group expands. The threat to Leah intensifies as the faction's appetite grows.

The Nightwalker Queen fixes her gaze on Leah as the next recruit and pressures Pearl to bite her. When Pearl balks, the Queen threatens to bite Pearl herself. The looming manipulation deepens the danger around Leah.

Julie tries to pair Leah with Bob Segal, believing he can win Leah's heart and reveal Pearl's danger. Bob's sense of entitlement strains the plan as Leah reveals her attraction to women. The scheme escalates as the plan to uncover Pearl falters.

In a bid to assert control, Bob spikes Pearl's drink with a date-rape drug and attempts to assault her. The Nightwalkers intervene during the attack, and Bob himself transforms into a Nightwalker. He emerges with enhanced powers and becomes a leader of the Nightwalker faction.

With newfound abilities, Bob leads the Nightwalkers in an assault that disrupts Leah's play and scenes. Pearl, watching the chaos, struggles to protect Leah while the other Nightwalkers move through the theater. The confrontation reveals the true danger the Nightwalkers pose.

Julie pursues the Nightwalkers to a graveyard in a bid to rescue Leah. Bob kills Julie during the attempt, cutting her off from the living world. The attack marks a turning point for Leah's peril.

Leah exacts vengeance by bludgeoning Bob to apparent death, ending his immediate threat. Pearl fights back against the other Nightwalkers, killing one by ripping his throat and blinding another. The immediate danger eases as they escape.

After escaping, Pearl reveals she can protect Leah. Leah asks to be turned into a Nightwalker so they can be together for eternity. Pearl consents, and Leah becomes a Nightwalker.

One year later, the Nightwalker gang remains active and scarred, now heavily influenced by Bob as they slip into a Halloween party. The group has adapted to their new roles and continues to prey on vulnerable targets. Leah and Pearl's bond remains at the heart of the nightwalkers' existence.
