Mongolian Death Worm

The Mongolia shale oil operation suffers a run of inexplicable mechanical failures that stall the drill. On-site manager Patrick grows anxious as equipment misbehaves and alarms ring through the camp. Locals whisper about the deadly Mongolian death worms and their rumored ability to generate an electromagnetic field that disrupts electronics.

A worker is killed inside the drilling zone, and the crew stops showing up after the incident. Patrick's panic deepens as his boss, Mr. Bixler, arrives from back home, signaling that this is more than a safety problem. The fear that the worms are real hardens the op's stance.

Alicia and Phillip enlist Daniel, a treasure hunter familiar with legends of the Mongolian death worms and Genghis Khan's tomb. Daniel’s reputation for chasing artifacts has earned Kowlan the crime boss's ire. The trio heads toward Sepegal to obtain medical supplies while chasing clues about the legends.

On the road to Sepegal, Daniel's truck breaks down and Kowlan's men seize the opportunity to grab them. Local police officer Timur, a friend of Daniel, discovers the abandoned vehicle and begins a dangerous search to locate them. The capture sets the stage for a larger confrontation with the worm threat looming in the background.

Daniel creates a distraction at Kowlan's camp, enabling Alicia and Phillip to slip away. In the ensuing gunfight, the death worms surge from the ground and devour Kowlan's men. Daniel fires at a fuel tank, triggering a dramatic blast that kills another worm.

Alicia and Phillip finally reach Sepegal with the medical supplies. Doctor Steffi explains that the sick villagers believe the outbreaks are linked to the worms, tying the two crises together. The arrival of Daniel hints at outside help and a plan to confront the threat.

Back at the oil plant, Patrick subdues Mr. Bixler and binds him, signaling a ruthless effort to salvage the operation. A second corporate manager is eaten by a worm, underscoring the escalating catastrophe Patrick seems blind to. Loot is moved covertly as the crisis worsens.

Daniel reaches Sepegal and warns Alicia about the worms, urging evacuation of the clinic and patients. He stresses the immediate danger and the need to prioritize lives over treasure. The warning heightens the urgency of the villagers' plight.

A nurse is pulled into a worm's maw as the infestation deepens around the plant. Phillip and Steffi hurry back to the clinic with others seeking safety. The worm swarm closes in, forcing a desperate defense of the vulnerable.

Daniel and Alicia confront Bana at the plant; Bana lets them inside when a worm appears behind them. Alicia hypothesizes that the worms were released from stasis by the plant's hot-water pumping, and that stopping the pumps could halt new hatchings. They shut down the pumps and Bana flees in panic.

Patrick shoots Bana; Alicia calls Timur, who races to Sepegal to defend the clinic and ends up killing several worms. The rescue effort intensifies as the fight spills over to protect the vulnerable villagers. The stakes rise as more defenders arrive on the scene.

Daniel descends to the plant's lower levels and uncovers a room filled with Genghis Khan's treasure. He faces Patrick again when Alicia is taken at knifepoint, but distracts Patrick by exposing Bixler's remains, then shoots Patrick in the shoulder. The queen worm's presence looms as the climax approaches.

The queen worm bursts forth, swallowing a henchman, and Patrick himself is eaten soon after. The monstrous focal point of the infestation asserts itself as the human threats crumble. With Patrick gone, the balance of power shifts again in the plant's corridors.

Timur arrives at the plant, finds Bana's body, and locates Daniel and Alicia. Daniel uncovers the treasure storage, but Alicia insists they destroy the plant to prevent more deaths. The plan to end the nightmare takes priority over the loot.

Daniel and Alicia crank the generators and pumps to build pressure as the plant collapses around them. Timur defends them with a shotgun but is consumed by the queen worm. The two escape the wrecked facility, return to Sepegal, and decide to pursue the treasure later, choosing lives over loot for now.
