Oak and her mother Wentahawi argue over whether the Mohawk should join the War of 1812. The debate centers on survival, loyalty, and the escalating violence around them. The confrontation sets the emotional stakes for Oak's reluctant path to retaliation.

Calvin and Joshua urge immediate retaliation, insisting the tribe must defend itself against the encroaching Americans. They advocate taking action now, regardless of the council's caution. Oak and Wentahawi are pulled into their plan, despite the risk.

Calvin slips away from the camp under cover of darkness to light an American encampment on fire. The blaze erupts and 22 sleeping soldiers are killed in the chaos. The attack signals a brutal escalation that will pull Oak and her lovers into a deadly pursuit.

Six soldiers and their civilian translator Yancy survive the attack and set out to track down Oak and the two men. The group moves with a vengeful motive, determined to avenge their fallen comrades. The pursuit crosses the frontier as dawn approaches.

A morning skirmish erupts as the pursuers close in. Wentahawi is killed in the clash, along with American Commander Colonel Charles Hawkes. The deaths intensify the cycle of violence and raise Holt's bloodlust.

Captain Hezekiah Holt seizes command of the American forces and calls for brutal retribution. He tightens the noose around Oak and the men, ordering punitive actions. His leadership marks a harsher turn in the conflict.

The Americans finally capture Oak and Joshua and torture Calvin before killing him. The operation comes at the cost of more American lives, including Holt's son Myles who is killed in the confrontation. The scene cements the personal stakes driving both sides.

Oak and Joshua are captured at a desolate French-Canadian mission, where Holt's men have already murdered Oak's uncle and cousins. Holt kills Joshua with his sabre and shoots Oak in the chest, leaving her for dead. The Americans then march on, leaving the trio behind.

With Joshua dead and Oak left for dead, the surviving Americans depart to return to their base at Fort George. The pursuit loses momentum as the group heads back, leaving Oak to recover alone.

Oak survives, shaves her head into a bloody Mohawk, and crafts armor from the remains of a pregnant deer and its unborn fawn. She lies wounded but determined, refusing to yield to her injuries. The transformation marks her metamorphosis into a symbol and weapon.

She stalks the remaining three Americans—Holt, Yancy, and Private Lachlan Allsopp—through the dark forest and kills Yancy and Allsopp. The pursuit narrows to Holt as Oak reveals herself in a tense, silent confrontation. The deaths escalate as she closes in on the man responsible for so much death.

Oak confronts Holt and he becomes disoriented, reliving the events as if in a dream. He ends up back at his burnt-out camp, stunned by the apparition of Oak and the night’s violence. The encounter foreshadows the climactic duel.

Having abandoned his pistol and sword in the forest, Holt and Oak face off in a brutal, hand-to-hand duel. Oak fights with ferocity, while Holt struggles to adapt to being unarmed. The fight blends stark realism with dreamlike intensity as Oak gains the upper hand.

Oak finally kills Holt by dumping him onto the burning tree remains and impaling him through the heart. She is gravely injured in the struggle but staggers away, her body marked by the battle. A Mohawk family witnesses her, treating her as a deity for the courage she displayed.
