Midnight Sun

The story opens with young Katie Price living a sheltered life in a small house in Washington State with her father. Due to her rare condition, Xeroderma Pigmentosum, she must avoid sunlight, leading local children to mock her and label her as a vampire.

One day, a local child knocks on Katie's door in an attempt to play, but her father firmly denies her access to outdoor playtime, emphasizing the dangers of sunlight. This protective measure only further isolates Katie from the world outside.

Enter Morgan, a determined girl who is insistent about seeing Katie. Over time, Morgan becomes Katie's closest friend, providing much-needed companionship and support in her otherwise lonely life.
