Murali rings his friends Vinoth and Kishore to inform them that he intends to end his life because he cannot bear Madhu's engagement to someone else. His sorrow is tied to his unrequited love for Madhu. The friends decide to intervene by having Madhu speak negatively about him to dissuade the act.

Kishore and Vinoth persuade Madhu to publicly disparage Murali to deter his suicide. Madhu hesitates but agrees to the plan. Murali becomes outraged when he hears Madhu's harsh words, yet that confrontation somehow leaves a seed of hope.

A year passes and Kishore invites Murali to his wedding, since Vinoth is injured in an accident. Murali attends along with his Meyadha Maan music crew and performs on stage. He meets Madhu again and they clash over a room allotment, and Murali ends up walking out of the ceremony.

Sudarvizhi, Murali's sister, discovers Murali's one-sided love for Madhu and unexpectedly falls for Vinoth. She schemes to win him, causing a rift with Vinoth who sees her as only a sister. Murali vows to help marry Sudarvizhi to Vinoth.

One day, Vinoth meets Madhu and thanks her for her noble gesture; shortly after, Madhu collapses. Vinoth rushes her to a hospital and Murali follows, worried about his friend's intentions. The hospital scene sets the stage for revelations about Madhu and Vinoth’s true feelings.

Murali suspects Vinoth has fallen in love with Madhu and trails him to the hospital. He confronts Vinoth in anger, accusing him of manipulating Madhu. The confrontation concludes with Murali realizing Madhu is not ill-mannered and that Vinoth’s actions were born of loyalty.

A few days later Murali discovers Madhu’s true character and that she is not ill-mannered or unworthy of love. This realization brings relief and a shift in his attitude toward her. Their previously strained relationship begins to thaw.

Murali helps Madhu by bringing her home after a troubling incident, and they bury the past to form a new friendship. Madhu's father reacts with anger to Murali's renewed presence in her life. The new bond unsettles the family dynamics.

Madhu's brother invites Murali to a family function to assert his place in the family; Madhu’s parents are irritated by Murali’s presence. Madhu bonds with Sudarvizhi during the event, complicating existing tensions. The gathering deepens the stakes for everyone involved.

Vinoth presents a marriage alliance for Sudarvizhi, but Murali rejects the arrangement, stating his plan to marry Sudarvizhi to Vinoth instead. The rejection shocks Vinoth and strains their friendship. The triangle becomes more entangled as family expectations rise.

Madhu convinces Murali to speak with Vinoth and proposes a plan to unite Vinoth with Sudarvizhi. The plan succeeds, and Vinoth reciprocates Sudarvizhi’s love, softening the earlier tensions. The trio begins to move toward a more harmonious arrangement.

Madhu reveals that she is in love with Murali, shifting the emotional balance of the relationships. Murali processes the confession with a mix of surprise and caution, weighing the implications for everyone involved. The confession deepens the romantic stakes of the story.

Madhu's father pushes forward her arranged marriage to another groom, prompting Murali and Madhu to consider stopping the ceremony. They attempt a bold plan to derail the wedding, but a quarrel between them derails their efforts. The conflict tests their commitment to each other.

Vinoth marries Sudarvizhi, while Madhu reveals that she is pregnant with Murali’s child from their earlier plan to stop the marriage. Madhu attempts suicide when Murali refuses to marry her, but the film moves toward reconciliation. In the end, Murali and Madhu sign the marriage papers at the registrar, and the story closes with Murali performing on stage with Madhu recording his performance.
