The animated biography follows Megumi Yokota, who was abducted by North Korea in 1977 at age 13. It recounts her early life, the moment of her kidnapping, and the broader scandal of at least twelve other Japanese residents taken during the 1970s‑80s. While North Korea admits the abductions, no conclusive evidence about Megumi’s fate or most of the others has ever been provided.
