On the planet of Eternia, the warlord Skeletor captures Castle Grayskull, the source of immense cosmic power. With his armies scattering the remaining defenders, he imprisons the Sorceress of Grayskull, using a draining energy field to solidify his control.

Skeletor's ultimate goal is to gain dominion over the universe by harnessing the power of Castle Grayskull during the looming moonrise. His plans are thwarted by the resilience of He-Man and his allies.

He-Man, Man-At-Arms, and Teela successfully rescue Gwildor, a locksmith, from Skeletor's forces. Gwildor reveals to them that Skeletor has stolen his invention called the Cosmic Key, which can open portals to any location with musical notes.

Equipped with Gwildor's prototype of the Cosmic Key, He-Man and his companions prepare to storm Castle Grayskull to rescue the Sorceress. However, they are quickly overwhelmed by Skeletor's minions and are forced to retreat through a portal to Earth.

He-Man and his companions arrive on Earth, but the Cosmic Key is lost in the process. The key is eventually discovered by two Californian teens, Julie and Kevin, who inadvertently send out a signal that attracts the attention of Evil-Lyn.

Evil-Lyn sends Skeletor's henchmen to Earth to retrieve the Cosmic Key from Julie and Kevin. The henchmen create chaos at Julie's school, where they try to track down the teens, leading to a confrontation with He-Man.

As the police investigate the chaos caused by Skeletor's minions, Kevin finds himself in trouble and is taken by Detective Lubic, who grows suspicious of the Key. The situation escalates as they search for Julie, who is caught in the crossfire.

Evil-Lyn breaks into Julie's home, using a mind-control collar on Kevin to extract information about the Cosmic Key. Just in time, Julie and the warriors from Eternia rescue Kevin, leading them to seek safety with Lubic.

A fierce battle ensues at Charlie's music shop over control of the Cosmic Key, with Evil-Lyn reclaiming it. Skeletor is alerted to the breach and plots an even larger attack against He-Man and his friends.

In a strategic move to save his friends, He-Man surrenders to Skeletor, who brings him back to Eternia. Skeletor prepares to consolidate his power over He-Man, unaware of the brewing rebellion among his own minions.

He-Man, Kevin, Gwildor, and Lubic launch a full-scale assault on Castle Grayskull. The battle intensifies as He-Man fights to reclaim the Cosmic Key and rescue his friends from Skeletor's clutches.

As Skeletor assumes total control, Evil-Lyn turns against him, joining forces with He-Man and the others. This pivotal shift undermines Skeletor's power, driving a wedge between him and his henchmen.

In an epic confrontation, He-Man battles Skeletor to reclaim the Sword of Grayskull. After a fierce duel, He-Man shatters Skeletor's staff, restoring him to his original form and sparking a final showdown.

He-Man ultimately defeats Skeletor, sending him plummeting into a deep chasm below Castle Grayskull. With Skeletor vanquished, the Sorceress uses her powers to heal Julie, who had been injured in the battle.

Back on Earth, Julie realizes she has the ability to change the past and prevent her parents' tragic fate. With Kevin by her side, they reflect on their incredible journey and the mysterious nature of the Cosmic Key.

In a shocking post-credits scene, Skeletor's head emerges from the depths, vowing to return. This cliffhanger leaves audiences wondering about his fate and future ambitions.
