A celebrated Polish ski jumper, Stanislaw Marusarz was a four-time Olympian and 1938 world vice-champion. During World War II, he served as a courier for the Underground State, escaping Gestapo prison in Krakow by jumping from a second-floor window. After the war, Marusarz continued to ski competitively, becoming an honored guest at the 1965-66 Four Hills Tournament, famously jumping at the Gross-Titlis-Schanze at age 53 in a suit and tie. The film also explores the story of his sister, Helena, a talented skier and Resistance Movement participant who was murdered by the Nazis.
