The timephone, invented by scientist Chiranjeevi in 1975, can dial any date in the past and reach the person living on that day. Each chosen date allows only one call, making every use carefully strategic. When Mark uses it to call the past, his actions create ripple effects that alter the present timeline.

The device is introduced early as a remarkable invention that will drive the entire narrative.

Mark grew up believing Antony killed his mother Vedhavalli, which is why he harbors resentment toward his biological father throughout his life. However, this was a lie perpetuated by Jackie, who manipulated everyone into believing Antony was the villain when Jackie himself orchestrated Vedhavalli's death.

Mark's resentment toward Antony is established early, creating tension in their relationship.

Jackie manipulated events to position himself as the kingpin after Antony was killed. He painted Antony as a criminal and villain, when in reality Jackie was the mastermind behind the illegal networks including drug smuggling, arms trafficking, and prostitution. He also orchestrated the deaths of Antony and Vedhavalli, then adopted Mark to control the narrative.

Jackie's rise to power after Antony's death is suspicious given his close friendship with Antony.

Mark discovers the timephone in 1995 and uses it to rescue his mother Vedhavalli and his younger self from Ekambaram's attack. He also warns Selvam about his impending death, which reveals the truth about Jackie's manipulation. By making these calls, Mark alters events leading to Jackie's death in the earlier timeline, fundamentally changing the present.

He becomes an antagonist who kidnaps Ramya to lure Mark into a trap at the club godown, participating in the final confrontation against Antony.

At the climax, Vedhavalli is held at gunpoint by Chiranjeevi, who demands the return of the timephone. Antony uses the timephone to contact her during this standoff. The resolution shows Vedhavalli being rescued from this dangerous situation as Antony defeats Jackie and reclaims control, finally able to protect his family.

Jackie is killed in the final showdown at the club godown when Antony defeats him and his gang. The confrontation involves Antony systematically eliminating Jackie's henchmen before facing Jackie and Madhan directly. Mark warns Selvam, Antony advocate, about his impending death because in the original timeline, Selvam was killed as part of Jackie's plan to eliminate anyone connected to Antony. By warning Selvam and asking him to meet in 1995, Mark saves Selvam's life and gains crucial information about Jackie's true nature - that Antony was framed as a villain while Jackie controlled the criminal operations.

Selvam's survival becomes pivotal to uncovering the truth.
