Jaffar is sentenced to 40 years in prison, a verdict that triggers a chilling threat: he will murder Sunny and his family. The threat casts a long shadow over Sunny and Ancy, driving the couple's later decisions and paranoia.

Sunny is a popular novelist with a strong female readership, which Ancy resents. The couple enjoys a loving relationship, but trust between them is fragile due to jealousy and public attention.

The family travels to Ooty to visit their daughter in boarding school, hoping for a pleasant getaway. The trip sets the stage for a dangerous turn as unknown dangers loom in the shadows.

Unbeknownst to them, Jaffar escapes from prison during the journey to Ooty. Venugopal attempts to warn Sunny but cannot reach him in time, leaving the family unaware of the danger looming behind them.

Returning from Ooty, Ancy is injured when their car collides with a truck on the road. The accident compounds the family's vulnerability and signals the start of the crisis at home.

Back home, Venugopal arranges two constables to guard Sunny's household, and Ancy is prescribed complete bed rest for three months. The extended rest blocks Sunny's sexual life and strains their marriage, while Ancy grows more suspicious of Sunny's interactions with Sonia.

A gunshot ends Ancy's life as she is found dead in her bedroom with a revolver nearby. The postmortem reveals an overdose of sleeping pills, adding complexity to the murder narrative. Venugopal begins to piece together the clues that point toward Jaffar's presence at the scene.

Sonia receives a suicide note from Ancy in the mail, pleading that Sonia take care of Ancy's daughter. Sunny sinks further into despair, drinking and withdrawing from those around him.

With Ancy gone, Sunny's depression deepens and the family arranges a marriage between Sunny and Sonia. Though hesitant at first, the couple eventually marries to keep the family together.

On the first night after the wedding, Sonia is startled to see Jaffar staring through the bedroom window; he vanishes when Sunny wakes. The eerie intrusion foreshadows the danger haunting the new union.

Sonia discovers Sunny's manuscript, which contains the suicide note Ancy sent, missing from the publisher's copy. She also finds Ancy's diary detailing Sunny's infatuation with Sonia and his abusive behavior, prompting her to confide in Venugopal.

In a tense confrontation at an abandoned building, Jaffar tries to blackmail Sunny and reveals that he witnessed Sunny murdering Ancy by giving her milk laced with sleeping pills. Sunny shoots Jaffar, and in the chaos he also kills Venugopal.

Following the confrontation, Sunny searches for Sonia and attacks her and her father, signaling his complete unraveling. He surrenders to the authorities, and the film ends with Sunny confined in a mental asylum as Sonia and their daughter visit him.
