Madhan refuses to pay Mannar because the detective reported that Ambujakshi was loyal and had not been unfaithful. Madhan had suspected Ambujakshi of having an affair during her vacation cruise, and since Mannar's report showed his suspicions were unfounded, Madhan felt there was no reason to pay for information that disproved his theory.

Earlier, Madhan had grown suspicious after seeing Ambujakshi filming with actor Suriya, setting the stage for his distrust.

Mannar fabricates a story about Ambujakshi having a secret affair primarily because Madhan refused to pay him for the investigation. Feeling cheated and needing money for his friend Rajan's cancer treatment, Mannar decides to create elaborate lies about Ambujakshi's supposed infidelity to extract payment from Madhan.

Mannar's financial desperation was established when he took the job partly to raise money for Rajan's hospital bills.

Madhan ends his relationship with Ambujakshi based on Mannar's fabricated warning that Ambujakshi's intentions were good but the man she was seen with was of poor character. This manipulated information, combined with Madhan's underlying jealousy and insecurity, leads him to break off the relationship despite having no real proof of infidelity.

Madhan's jealousy dates back three years to when he saw Ambujakshi with actor Suriya and demanded she stop acting.

Mannar reveals that he lost his wife Juliet in a car accident three years ago. Ambujakshi realizes that this accident occurred during the argument she had with Madhanangopal in the car three years earlier, when their quarrel nearly caused a collision with another vehicle. This means Ambujakshi's actions indirectly caused Juliet's death.

The early scene of Ambujakshi and Madhan arguing in the car, nearly crashing into another vehicle, foreshadows this tragic revelation.

After learning that her past argument with Madhan may have caused Mannar's wife's death, Ambujakshi feels overwhelming guilt and responsibility. During the confrontation, she mistakenly slaps Kunju Kurup (whom she misidentifies as Madhan's detective), but uses the moment to declare her love for Mannar, driven by her emotional response to this shared burden of guilt.

The revelation about the car accident creates the emotional foundation for this declaration.

When Madhan arrives in Venice, a cascade of misunderstandings unfolds that expose Mannar's deception. Through the counter-plan orchestrated by Mannar, Deepa, and the Kurups, Madhan comes to understand the full extent of the lies Mannar told. He realizes that Ambujakshi was never unfaithful and that his own jealousy and Mannar's manipulations tore them apart. He accepts her love for Mannar with grace and understanding.

The counter-plan was set in motion specifically to reveal the truth to Madhan and trigger this resolution.

After discovering that Mannar was Madhan's spy, Mannar and Deepa team up with Kunju Kurup and his wife Manju Kurup to devise a plan. They stage a series of mix-ups and misunderstandings designed to expose Mannar's deception and convince Madhan of the truth about Ambujakshi's loyalty. This orchestrated chaos leads to the final confrontation and resolution.

The plan takes shape specifically before Madhan's arrival in Venice, preparing for this decisive moment.

Rajan, Mannar's friend who was diagnosed with cancer and being cared for by his wife Mallika, undergoes chemotherapy and an operation during the cruise. The film shows that his cancer battles begin to ease, and there are clear signs of recovery. Mallika calls Mannar with tears of relief to share this good news as the cruise heads back to India.

Mannar's need for money was directly tied to funding Rajan's treatment, establishing the stakes early.

After all the misunderstandings are resolved, two new couples form. Back in India, Madhanangopal begins a relationship with Deepa (the divorcee and Ambujakshi's friend), while Major Raja Mannar and Ambujakshi pair off together. The film closes with both couples ready to pursue lives built on trust and shared history.

The groundwork for these relationships was laid through the various interactions and revelations during the cruise.

Madhan's mother Indira never liked Ambujakshi and had always preferred Sunanda for Madhan. When Indira learns that Madhan has broken up with Ambujakshi, she calls her brother to push forward the previously arranged marriage between Sunanda and Madhan. This subplot adds family pressure and complexity to the romantic situation.

The arrangement between Sunanda and Madhan existed before the events of the film, showing Indira's longstanding disapproval.
