Manhunt in Space

Rocky Jones and co-pilot Winky are tasked with investigating the mysterious disappearance of several space ships near Cassa 7, a planet where the United Planets are trying to establish an outpost. They quickly realize the situations are linked to more than just random vanishings.

Upon arriving at Cassa 7, the Space Rangers rescue fellow Ranger Reggie and Vena Ray, who has come to visit her brother. The rescue reveals that the missing ships have been hijacked using a method that renders ships into artificial satellites orbiting the planet.

Jones deduces that space pirates, led by Rinkman and aided by Dr. Vanko’s technology, are responsible for neutralizing the ships' power and equipment. The pirates are believed to operate from a nearby planet, Prah, which has an unknown defense barrier preventing unauthorized landings.

On the planet Ophecius, it is revealed that Queen Cleolanta is secretly behind the pirate activities and the looting of vessels near Cassa 7, making her a central figure in the conspiracy.

Professor Newton offers a cloaking device utilizing 'cold light' technology, which uses the principle of visual disappearance through cooling, allowing the Rangers to approach Prah undetected and plan their infiltration.

Using the cold light cloaking device, Rocky Jones lands on Prah, is captured by Rinkman, and learns that the pirates are working for someone else. Although Rinkman doesn’t reveal the identity, it becomes a significant moment in understanding the larger conspiracy.

With help from Winky, Jones manages to escape Prah and the pirates' control. Meanwhile, on Cassa 7, Ken, a space traffic controller, is revealed to be secretly working for the pirates as a double agent.

Jones and Winky locate and capture Rocky’s suspect Ken, confronting him and uncovering his betrayal. The pirates also arrive on Cassa 7, capturing Rocky and trying to establish their control over the situation.

Jones and Hagar Nu work together to escape and then trick the pirates into believing their ship is no longer there by switching a marker. Jones captures Ken, but Ken manages to warn the pirates before being subdued.

Hagar plants explosives on the pirates' ship to prevent their escape. Jones warns them of the danger, leading to a fight between the Space Rangers and the pirates. Winky disables the ship’s fuel pumps to prevent the launch, ensuring the pirates' failure.

The Space Rangers win the confrontation, preventing the pirates from escaping and ending their scheme. The pirates' plans are thwarted, and order is restored to the region.

Winky reflects on the possibility of going on a date, humorously suggesting he might be waiting for a girl. The story concludes with a hint of continuation in the subsequent film, 'Crash of Moons,' leaving the adventure open for more stories.
