Maintenance Required

Charlie inherits her father's auto service shop in Oakland and continues to work as a mechanic. She uses the online alias GreaseMnky to chat with Bullnose about car issues, unaware that Bullnose is Beau, a rival manager from Miller Boys.

Beau visits the shop with friends Cam and Izzy and discusses Miller Boys' new location across the street as a potential threat to Charlie's business. He does not disclose that he works for Miller Boys during the visit.

At a bar, Beau invites Charlie to a pool game with a wager. Charlie beats him handily, demonstrating her long-standing skill at the game.

Mr. Miller hears Beau's pitch about electric vehicles and agrees to explore the idea. Charlie visits Miller Boys and spots Beau's badge, realizing he is a Miller Boy, which unsettles her because he hadn't revealed his identity.

Back at a garage, Charlie changes a tire faster than a competitor, proving she is an exceptionally skilled mechanic.

A TV crew interviews Charlie, and she emphasizes that her father built the shop for the community and that the all-female team won't be bullied by a heartless corporation.

A concerned woman complains to Miller Boys about putting a small enterprise out of business, framing it as capitalism's side effect.

Charlie goes to meet her online contact at a restaurant, but Beau arrives looking like her date and invites her to dinner. She declines and leaves, texting Bullnose to never speak to her again.

Bullnose pleads for forgiveness, but Charlie ignores him. An investor buys a classic car that Charlie restored, making her cry and wish the shop would be owned by someone who loves it as she does.

Charlie decides to give Bullnose another chance and agrees to meet him at a coffee place. Beau arrives there, still hiding his online identity, and invites her to a classic cars show.

The next day, Mr. Miller is happy Oakland is among Miller Boys' top locations and wants to conquer North America, but Beau quits Miller Boys.

Charlie attends the classic cars show and connects with Beau over her car photographs. They drive off together but stop at a scenic place near the ocean when Beau's car overheats; she realizes Beau is Bullnose when she sees Bullnose's car in his garage, and she drives away, unable to trust him.

A month passes with little communication; Cam informs Charlie that Beau quit weeks ago due to a corporate conscience, and she admits she misses him.

Charlie tracks Beau to a diner, where he reveals he left Miller Boys and apologizes for not being honest earlier. They decide to fix a '68 Dodger together and begin a renewed partnership.

A year later, Charlie feels that someone, perhaps her father, is looking out for her, and she is happily working with Beau on a car.
