Love Exposure

Yū Honda, a Catholic teenager, lives under the strict eye of his priest father, Tetsu. Tetsu asks him to confess his sins, but Yū believes himself virtuous and fabricates sins to satisfy him. The pressure to live up to his father's faith sets the stage for his risky curiosity.

To appease his father, Yū becomes obsessed with committing real misdeeds. He pushes himself to break rules and explore his limits, hoping to prove his faith by transgressing. This pursuit pulls him away from ordinary life and toward dangerous temptations.

Yū befriends other boys who mentor him in theft, fighting, and stealth photography. He quickly becomes skilled at these acts, blurring lines between mischief and perversion in the group’s eyes. Despite the label, he maintains that he is not aroused by the images.

After losing a bet, Yū goes into the city dressed as a woman and kisses a girl he likes. His disguise and bold act pull him into a new social circle and set off a cascade of awkward complications. This moment marks his first concrete breach of social norms and fuels his longing for acceptance.

In the city, Yū and his friends encounter Yōko, a skilled fighter nicknamed the Virgin Mary, who is surrounded by thugs. Yū helps Yōko fight the gang while still in disguise, and he ends up kissing her. He immediately falls in love with Yōko, though she falls for his alter ego Sasori.

Aya Koike, a member of the cult Zero Church, follows Yū after she catches him taking a photo of her panties and becomes infatuated with him. She masquerades as Sasori to win Yōko's favor and manipulates those around Yū and Yōko. Her schemes drag Yū's family into the church's influence and threaten their safety.

Yū's family becomes entangled in Zero Church's web of manipulation as Aya pulls strings behind the scenes. The cult's influence threatens the peace of their home and tests their trust in one another. The tension widens the rift between Yū's longing for love and the church's control.

Desperate to free Yōko from the cult's clutches, Yū attempts to kidnap her. Yōko remains distrustful of him, doubting his identity as Miss Scorpion and assuming he is a pervert. The failed rescue escalates the emotional stakes for both.

Armed with a sword, Yū breaks into the Zero Church building to escape with Yōko. Aya fights back in the confrontation, and in a crucial moment she realizes Yū's true love and kills herself by driving the sword through her stomach. The confrontation exposes the tragedy of the love triangle.

Yū is taken to a mental hospital, where he forgets his past and believes he is Sasori. Yōko visits and declares that she loves him as the person who was always trying to save her, but he cannot remember. Security escorts Yōko out as Yū's memory begins to return, setting up a confrontation with the past.

Moments later, Yū remembers Yōko and escapes from the hospital, sprinting toward the car carrying her away. He catches up, smashes open the car window, and they join hands, choosing each other despite the turmoil. The moment marks a decisive turn toward their reunion.

After a dramatic chase, Yū and Yōko hold hands, signaling a tentative union despite trauma and memory gaps. The ending offers a fragile hope that love can endure amid fear and confusion. Their bond is reaffirmed as they face an uncertain future together.
