Looking for Eric

The story focuses on Evets, a devoted football fan and postman, whose life is spiraling out of control. While he cares for his granddaughter, he finds himself in close proximity to his ex-wife, and his stepson is entangled in troubling dealings with a local gangster, including hoarding a gun. During his darkest moments, when thoughts of suicide loom, he experiences vivid hallucinations that bring forth visits from his footballing idol, the wise and philosophical Eric Cantona.

As Eric struggles with his deteriorating life—marked by a chaotic home environment, a missing wife, and rebellious stepsons—it becomes increasingly evident that his personal confessions weigh heavily on him. Encountering Lily, the woman he once adored and abandoned many years ago, adds to his emotional turmoil. Although his friends attempt to rally behind him with misguided support and humor, their efforts fail to lift his spirits, plunging him deeper into despair.

In these desperate times, a spliff and a little wisdom from an unexpected guide are just what Eric needs to navigate his tumultuous world. He ultimately reaches out to his hero, the legendary footballer and insightful thinker, Eric Cantona, who imparts a crucial lesson: > “He who is afraid to throw the dice, will never throw a six.”
