After refusing to aid a power‑hungry witch, Jacob, the shoemaker’s son, is cursed into a hunchbacked dwarf with an overlong nose. Unrecognizable to his mother and mocked by townsfolk, he is driven out. While tending a goose on the road, he meets a spring animal—actually Greta, the king’s daughter under enchantment. Jacob strives to reverse the curse and defeat the witch.
