The Leprechaun was reawakened when Ozzie Jones dropped his phone near the old well on the sorority property. Water from the well sprayed onto him, reanimating the creature. The Leprechaun then burst out of Ozzie's torso, reclaiming the gold coin that Ozzie had swallowed twenty-five years earlier during the events of the original film.
