Gilbert incinerates banknotes at the Bank of France and lives with his wife Gisèle and son Thomas. He played in a band with Serge and Gisèle’s brother Marc, who convinces him that a briefcase with a million dollars was stolen and that his mistake endangers Marc. Pressured to sabotage the incinerator, Gilbert first refuses, then complies, only to learn he’s been duped and, in revenge, informs police of the heist’s date and time.
