In Belle Époque Paris, penniless but handsome Georges Duroy reunites with his friend Forestier, the editor‑in‑chief of a major financial newspaper, who secures him a reporting job. Leveraging his charm, Georges courts influential women, notably Madeleine, the editor’s wife, to gain entry into wealthy circles, earning the nickname “Bel Ami.”
