League of Gangsters

After being released from prison, Kazama joins with Takamoto to strike back against the gang that has taken over his territory. They begin rallying the remnants of his old crew and plotting a dangerous comeback. The mood is grim as they prepare for a violent reentry into the city’s underworld.

Kazama and Takamoto reunite with destitute Kusunoki and his wife Masae, and recruit the young Shiga, known as Boy, who arranges jobs for dancers. Nagashi declines, intent on leaving Japan to pursue a singing career abroad.

Ogata, a former gang member, has taken a job with the rival organization to survive. His position gives Kazama and Takamoto a hidden channel to learn the rival chairman's movements and plans.

The duo cases the hotel where the Western deal will take place and hatch a kidnapping plot using Kusunoki, Masae, and Boy. Their target includes the chairman and his daughter Akiko, pulling the threads of a dangerous caper.

During the deal, they execute the kidnapping, slipping away with the chairman's daughter Akiko along with the chairman himself. The abduction disrupts the negotiations and triggers a rapid, violent pursuit.

Takamoto contacts the Daido Real Estate board and demands 60 million yen as ransom; the board approves the payment as they debate the risks. The plan is to deliver the money to a coastal restaurant called The Seagull, with the kicker that the recipient must come alone.

The board decides to assign the transport to another operative to remove Ogata from suspicion. They still aim to deliver the ransom to The Seagull, hoping to keep the exchange clean.

Kazama shoots the bagman during the transfer and triggers a chase by rival yakuza as they try to escape. Nagashi dies in a desperate fight, buying time for the others to flee.

Back at the safehouse, the bag with money has been swapped for a bag of paper scraps, sabotaging the ransom. The gang tries to coerce information by threatening the chairman's daughter, but the chairman remains cold and unyielding.

Ogata drives to the safehouse to negotiate the ransom but is tailed by the rival gang and is shot during the tense standoff. The blow shows how vulnerable their inside help is and raises the stakes for Kazama's crew.

Akiko pressures the chairman by threatening to reveal the Western deal, causing him to panic. She then flips sides, persuading Kazama to arm her and pledging to live like him.

Masae attempts to help the chairman escape but is captured by Kusunoki; she fires at him and misses, and Kusunoki shoots and kills her.

Kusunoki dies in a brutal clash with the rival gang, and Takamoto falls in the ensuing shootout. The losses mount as the plan unravels.

Kazama and Boy unleash TNT to blow up the remaining henchmen, but Boy is shot and dies. The blast marks a turning point as the remaining rivals are dealt with and Kazama confronts the cost of vengeance.

Kazama laments that he has achieved nothing but the death of his companions, but Akiko volunteers to become his companion and join the gang. They walk off together to start over, seeking a new path amid the ruins of their past.
