Ladies Tailor

In the village, Sundaram is a talented tailor who prefers slacking to hard work. A supposed fluke promises him wealth without effort, tempting him to rely on luck. He ignores the reminders of his disciple Sitaramudu and his friend Battala Satyam to actually put in the work.

Sitaramudu and Satyam persistently urge Sundaram to invest effort into his craft and business. He continues to avoid responsibility, hoping that luck will carry him to riches. The mounting tension between his lazy approach and his friends' push creates the early backbone of the story.

A Koyadora prophesies that Sundaram will attain kingship by knitting a lady luck bearing a mole on her right thigh. He repeats this prophecy to his mates, who become wary of the risks and the power such a future would require. The omen plants the central quest: to identify the right woman who carries the mole.

They fear the chieftain Venkata Ratnam, who would prey on women, and decide to keep watch over his confidant Seenu. Sundaram and his friends plot to stay ahead of danger while gambling on the supposed fortune. The looming menace of Venkata Ratnam drives their schemes.

Sundaram begins bigger business by stitching a blouse for Sundari, the chieftain’s sister who roams about the area. He proceeds by courting three flirtatious girls—Nagamani, Neelaveni, and Daiya—vowing to marry one of them. Seenu senses the deceit in his antics and tries to intervene.
