Ladies Tailor

In a quiet village, Sundaram is a talented yet lazy ladies’ tailor whose dream of easy wealth keeps him from putting in real work. His discicple Sitaramudu and friend Battala Satyam push him to labor, but Sundaram clings to a bizarre fluke that he believes will bring him prosperity without effort. A wandering Koyadora prophesies that Sundaram’s rise to power will come when he binds the life of a woman marked by a mole on her right thigh, a detail that both fascinates and terrifies him. He shares this uncanny forecast with his circle, yet they fear the menacing chieftain Venkataratnam, who will tolerate no misdeeds against women.

With that ominous prophecy swirling in his mind, Sundaram sets out to make his fortune by weaving his way into the lives of Sundari, the sister of Venkataratnam, and the trio of flirtatious young women who loom as possible brides—Nagamani, Neelaveni, and Daiya. He proclaims that one among them will be the chosen partner, and he vows to marry the right one. His schemes are constantly under watch by Seenu, who senses the deceit in Sundaram’s antics. Time runs short, and Sundaram’s pursuit becomes a frenetic chase as he tries to narrow down the true match among the three, all while dodging the looming threat of the powerful man who could crush him.

The plot thickens when Sundaram spots a mole on a new schoolteacher, Sujatha, and his attention immediately centers on her. Sujatha ends up becoming the genuine object of his affection, and she returns his feelings, adding a sincere romance to the mix. Meanwhile, the trio of Nagamani, Neelaveni, and Daiya seem to complicate the situation, and Sundaram’s friends are drawn deeper into the machinations of love, bribe, and loyalty as Venkataratnam’s influence looms large. As Sujatha pursues her training and ambitions, Sundaram vows to walk away with her, hoping to start anew. But the village turns against him when Sundari becomes pregnant, and the entire community, along with the three hopeful brides, closes in. Just when Venkataratnam seems ready to strike a fatal blow, Sujatha reveals the real culprit behind the chaos: Sitaramudu, the ever-watchful observer who has learned to see through Sundaram’s schemes. The revelation rekindles tense emotions, and Sujatha confronts Sundaram’s careless treatment of women, exposing the flaws that have haunted him.

In a moment of remorse, Sundaram recognizes the consequences of his actions and pleads for forgiveness, choosing to quit his hedonistic pursuit. Sujatha refuses to abandon him, choosing instead to stand by his side and, in time, they marry.
