Society matron Mrs. Livingston Baldwin Crane is called to serve on the jury for the murder trial of former chorus girl Yvette Gordon, accused of killing her wealthy older husband. Throughout the courtroom proceedings and the jurors’ deliberations, Mrs. Crane’s outspoken, unconventional behavior continually disrupts the process, challenging the other jurors and adding unexpected twists to the case.
