Rivette’s revised cut, titled La Belle Noiseuse: Divertimento, goes beyond a simple shortened version of the original. By re‑editing the footage he shifts the narrative emphasis, presenting the story largely through Marianne’s eyes and giving a more intimate view of her artistic experience while retaining the core material of the full film.
