Annie and Shilpa dream of opening a beauty parlour, but their funds are tight and their future looks uncertain. In a bold move to change their fortunes, they pose as workers and decide to rob the nearby co-operative bank, driven by a mix of desperation and resolve. With the help of Stephen, a trusted friend of Annie’s father, they pull off the daring plan and walk away with what they believe is a new beginning.

The aftershocks of the heist quickly pull the police into the picture. Police Inspector Farooq Rahman launches a methodical investigation and narrows his suspicions to Annie and [Shilpa], suggesting that the two women may be involved in the theft. His pursuit leads him to CI Stephen, a former officer who has fallen into criminal ways, and who dies of a heart attack while being questioned, leaving the case with new questions and a chilling sense of betrayal.

Annie refuses to abandon the mystery of the missing money. She makes her way to the spot where Stephen was reputed to have hidden the loot, only to discover the stash is not there. Undeterred, she pieces together fragments of conversation with Stephen and pulls information from Stephen’s wife, tracing clues that eventually lead her to a burial chamber at Thenmala Church where the money is supposedly concealed.

Farooq grows more convinced of Annie and Shilpa’s involvement and constructs a trap to capture them. Meanwhile, another local thief, Stephen’s brother-in-law, closes in on Annie and makes threats as the search tightens. In a tense turn, Annie heads to Farooq’s house under unusual circumstances, aiming to cut his niece’s hair, an odd but telling moment that exposes her real intentions and drags Farooq into a dangerous confrontation. When he finds Annie there, he confronts the lie and demands half of the money in exchange for his silence. Annie reluctantly hands over the funds, hoping for quiet and a fresh start.

The following day brings a sharper public reckoning. Farooq broadcasts Annie’s alleged involvement, breaking the fragile agreement and turning the town’s gaze toward them. Anxious to escape the spotlight, Annie and Shilpa attempt to flee, but their pursuit ends in arrest. The locals, surprised by Farooq’s seeming triumph, are left to reconcile with the unsettling undercurrents of the case, while Farooq himself appears visibly unsettled by the moral ambiguities of the outcome.

A flashback fills in the gaps: Annie and Shilpa had long suspected that Farooq might cheat them, and they shadowed him to uncover where he hid his own cut of the money. The plan then shifts from a simple heist to a calculated move to outmaneuver Farooq, culminating in a troubling twist that casts doubt on everyone’s motives. The story closes with a stark look at loyalty and betrayal, revealing that what began as a joint aspiration for a better life spiraled into a cycle of deceit that closed one chapter and set the stage for another.

Three years pass, and the two women reemerge as waitresses in a cafe in a new city, still chasing the dream of financial freedom. Their renewed plan targets a local diamond shop near the café, hinting that the same hunger for a fresh start—and the same willingness to gamble everything—has not faded.
