In Lugano, Switzerland, a world conference serves as the backdrop for the Eden Hotel’s staff. Kitty, a young manicurist, meets a novice journalist and the English minister of economics, leading to comic mix‑ups, a romance and occasional song. Paul Hörbiger shines as the hotel porter, and the film satirises politics, ending with the VIPs laughing.
