King-Size Canary

An alley cat prowls through garbage for scraps but finds little more than stale bones stolen by rival alley cats. He spots a refrigerator inside a house, and the prospect of real food lures him toward the property. The scene sets a tense tone as he weighs the risk of breaking in for a meal.

The cat sneaks onto the porch and accidentally wakes a sleeping bulldog. The dog gives chase, forcing the cat to flee up to the side of the house. In a bold move, the cat slips sleeping pills into the dog's mouth, knocking the bulldog into a deep slumber.

With the bulldog stunned, the cat slips inside to search the kitchen for nourishment. He uncovers a can of cat food, and as he claws it open, a mouse pops out from within. The mouse warns that the cat cannot eat him, and hints that the cartoon world they inhabit has more surprises in store.

The mouse tells the cat that there is a huge canary in the other room. The cat heads there, only to find the bird revealed after being pulled from a sack is scrawny and small. The bird explains he’s been sick, and the mouse points to a bottle labeled Jumbo Gro plant growth formula on a shelf, hinting at a way to fix their hunger.

The cat pours Jumbo Gro onto the sick canary, and the bird begins to swell rapidly. The canary grows to towering, comic proportions, easily over ten feet tall. The cat watches, astonished, while the bird's new height shifts the power dynamics in the kitchen.

The oversized canary uses its height to overwhelm the cat in a whirlwind of feathers and clumsy power. In response, the cat drinks Jumbo Gro himself and expands even more, turning the tables in a spectacular growth contest. He tosses the formula bottle out of the window, where it lands in the bulldog's mouth.

The bulldog gulps down the Jumbo Gro from the tossed bottle and suddenly grows enormous. A wild chase erupts as the gigantic dog and the gigantic cat sprint around the yard and into the street, turning the neighborhood into a runaway cartoon showdown. The pursuit careens toward the block and beyond.

The cat and dog sprint into the city, their enormous bodies crashing through fences and storefronts. A gargantuan mouse—who had earlier sipped the formula—also enters the scene, growing tall enough to loom over buildings. The mouse reassures the cat that he will save his life and hands the Jumbo Gro bottle back to him before waddling off toward the chaos of the urban landscape.

The cat drinks more Jumbo Gro, enlarging even beyond the already colossal mouse. In a dizzying chase that spans street to street, they surge across the city and head toward the countryside, passing recognizable landmarks in a playful exaggeration of scale.

The gargantuan mouse slips into a railroad tunnel to lose the pursuing cat. The cat presses on, not realizing the mouse has followed him into the tunnel and plans to grow even bigger. The mouse sips Jumbo Gro when the cat isn’t paying attention, becoming even larger than before.

Cat and mouse duel in a never-ending growth contest, each drinking more to outsize the other. They continue to rise in size until they finally stop at the same enormous scale, realizing the Jumbo Gro bottle is now empty. They pause and wave to the audience as the world around them magnifies into a cartoonish spectacle.

The camera pulls back to reveal that the two giants have outgrown the Earth itself and stand atop the globe. They share a final playful moment before bidding farewell to the audience, signaling the end of their oversized adventure. The empty bottle lies between them as the screen fades to black.
