Killing Gunther

As the cunning assassin Blake targets the infamous hitman Gunther, he meticulously crafts a plan to document every step of his mission. To accomplish this, he recruits a diverse group of specialists: Donnie, an expert in explosives; Sanaa, daughter of the legendary hitman Rahmat Fairouza; Gabe, a technology novice who often finds himself in precarious situations; and Ashley, Blake’s veteran mentor who has just suffered a heart attack. The team gathers at a warehouse that becomes a hub for additional assassins including Izzat, a former Islamist extremist equipped with a robotic arm; Yong, a poison expert; the unstable Bellakalakova twins; and Max, Blake’s ex-partner.

As the pressure builds, Ashley experiences another heart attack, just moments after leaving the hospital, which compels the team to devise a scheme to lure Gunther from hiding, using a strategically staged hit in Miami as bait. Their journey takes them to Cheyenne, a notorious arms dealer, followed by a tense chase after Gunther eliminates their target. In the mayhem that ensues, Izzat meets his demise when Gunther turns his own robotic appendage against him, while Sanaa manages to inflict serious harm on Gunther before he escapes.

The next step for the team is tracing Gunther to an underground clinic, where they uncover that he is receiving medical attention for his injuries. Donnie takes decisive action, trying to plant a bomb in Gunther’s car; however, his plan backfires as the bomb fails to ignite and the street is rigged with traps. In a twist of fate, Yong leads the team into a disastrous pursuit around the city, ultimately facing a grisly death when a venomous snake bursts from the trunk of Gunther’s vehicle, delivering a fatal bite to his neck.

Once the dust settles, Blake grapples with his inner turmoil, especially dealing with feelings of betrayal from his ex, Lisa, who had left him for Gunther—a relationship that ultimately crumbled. Meanwhile, Ashley’s health deteriorates, prompting the team to celebrate their hard-fought triumphs with an evening of drinking and camaraderie at a local bar. Amid the festive atmosphere, Blake finds himself getting closer to a bartender, while Sanaa and Donnie enjoy a romantic night together.

However, their merriment is abruptly interrupted when Rahmat Fairouza, furious at Donnie for hurting Sanaa, launches an attack, leading Blake to realize that Gunther orchestrated this chaos. As he attempts to flee, he descends into a world of disorder and destruction. Upon reaching Lisa’s home, Blake leaves letters revealing his deepest fears about her safety, worrying someone might harm her to get back at him. Ashley’s health plummets, culminating in a fatal heart attack, and the group mourns her loss during a somber funeral.

In a shocking twist, Sanaa reveals her pregnancy, only for tragedy to strike when a bomb explodes, killing Gabe at Ashley’s grave. Overwhelmed by guilt and uncertainty, Blake initially steps back from his mission until Lisa provides him with Gunther’s residence details, reigniting his resolve to confront the truth. He infiltrates Gunther’s home alone, accompanied by a documentary crew to capture the turmoil and betrayal.

A fierce confrontation ensues between Blake and Gunther, with Sanaa and Donnie joining in the battle against their formidable adversary. Just when they believe they have the upper hand, another filming crew enters, and Gunther unveils his true identity as Cheyenne, the bartender who is also a master of disguise. With a crafty grin, he presents them with an excruciating choice: to either retire peacefully or face death. In a panic, the documentary team retreats, leaving Blake and his allies to contend with Gunther’s heavily armed entourage.

As the standoff heightens, Gunther drops a bombshell, revealing he has kidnapped Lisa and warns Blake that killing him will lead to her execution. In a display of quick thinking, Lisa disarms Gunther and vanquishes his crew, sparing Blake from lethal danger. Just as he begins to catch his breath, Gunther gains the upper hand and vanishes as law enforcement arrives.

Fast forward a year, and Donnie and Sanaa have forged a life filled with love, despite the trials they faced. Lisa has found happiness with a new partner, while Blake’s whereabouts remain unknown. Meanwhile, Gunther has retreated to Austria, where he hatches a sinister plan that leads to his ultimate showdown with Blake.

In a dramatic climax, Gunther is interviewed by the documentary team, but he is confronted by Blake, who has finally tracked him down. In a moment of victory, Blake kills Gunther, only to discover a bomb vest hidden beneath Gunther’s clothes, resulting in a devastating explosion that claims his life and that of the crew.

In the aftermath, the Austrian authorities hold a press conference revealing that one of their reporters is none other than Gunther in disguise. The cycle of violence and deceit has culminated in a sorrowful conclusion, leaving only heartbreak and ruin in its wake.
