Shiva is an engineering graduate who is currently jobless, and he is deeply in love with Shruti, a software developer at a prestigious firm. He musters the courage to tell his father that he wants to marry Shruti, and what starts as a joke for some turns into a serious family matter. Shruti’s father eventually agrees to the alliance after learning that Shruti’s mother is battling pancreatic cancer and may not have long to live; he hopes Shruti’s marriage will bring some happiness to her mother in her final days. The families go ahead with the wedding, and Shiva and Shruti begin their marital life with a sense of hopeful anticipation.

In the early days, the couple shares a simple, joyful happiness, built on mutual affection and support. Shruti notices a possible job opening at her company and urges Shiva to apply. He does, impressing the interviewer, but trouble soon follows when Bhushan, the assistant manager, sabotages the process to lure Shruti’s advocate toward an on-site opportunity in the United States. The CEO’s public slight during the recruitment leaves Shruti frustrated with Shiva, who ends up drinking after a stressful confrontation and facing legal trouble for drunk driving. A chain of misunderstandings drives Shiva and Shruti into further strain. Shruti remains supportive, even as Shiva secretly works the cab business to clear debts. A chance ride with a man named Giri leads to a telephonic interview that Shiva completes on Giri’s behalf, inadvertently securing a real opportunity for Giri’s sake. The couple briefly celebrates this progress together.

Trouble resurfaces when Bhushan arranges a scheme to humiliate Shiva in front of Shruti by presenting him as a cab driver who is masquerading as a potential employee. Shruti confronts Shiva, and the strain between them grows until they separate. Around this time, Shruti receives news that her mother has passed away, and Shruti’s father, who had once built his life on luck and risky business, begins to drink again. He explains that Shruti’s mother was his steady pillar, and her illness and imminent loss had forced a difficult reckoning. Shiva, who had initially refused the alliance due to unemployment, grows to understand the depth of Shruti’s family’s pain and the importance of standing by one another.

Shruti, feeling guilty for doubting Shiva, goes to reconnect with him. Meanwhile, Bhushan’s manipulations lead to a confrontation where Chari discovers Bhushan’s deception and blows up in anger. Shruti learns of Shiva’s earlier act of resilience and reconciliation; she returns to his side, slaps Bhushan in a moment of righteous anger, and decides to focus on rebuilding their lives together, choosing to start job-hunting anew with a renewed sense of partnership.

The tale reaches a turning point when Shiva attends another interview. He is called to the CEO’s cabin, only to find that Giri now holds the position, explaining that his father-in-law orchestrated the move to prove Shiva’s value and to secure a future for the couple. With this surprising turn, Shiva receives a solid offer and, alongside Shruti, steps toward a hopeful, stable future.
