Viluppuram-based engineering graduate Yazhini Bakthirajan [Madonna Sebastian] leaves for Chennai to pursue a dream in the IT sector, hoping to build a life far from home. After five tense months, the company she works for suddenly folds, plunging her into financial hardship and forcing her to move into a modest housing colony. There, she meets her neighbor Kathiravan alias Kathir [Vijay Sethupathi], a man with a perilous edge and a past tied to local power.
Kathir works for a local councillor, Thilagar [G. M. Sundar], whose only goal is to own a bar and wield influence. Kathir has just been released from a five-year prison term, taking the blame for a crime he didn’t commit at the councillor’s bidding. He hoped this sacrifice would earn him a higher rank in the gang, but the promise never came. Despite their strained start, Yazhini and Kathir form a wary, evolving bond that grows into a peculiar, symbiotic support system as they navigate their vastly different worlds.
Family pressure compounds Yazhini’s professional ambitions. Her parents press for a traditional match, and she brings Kathir home as her supposed boyfriend who runs a successful IT firm.
