Justice League: Warworld

A female gunslinger rides into Last Stand and finds a tense standoff between the town’s defenders led by Bat Lash and the bandits led by Jonah Hex. Hex explains that the town's gold miners, ranchers, and farmers are supposed to pay him for protection, but the townsfolk barricade the bank instead. She sides with the townsfolk and begins to earn their trust as she confronts the chaos.

Hex and the townsfolk struggle with the newcomer’s loyalties. The woman is called a 'Wonder' and an 'Angel' by the townsfolk, but she cannot recall her own name, leaving her identity unsettled as she stands between sides.

During Hex’s diversion, she rescues a little girl from his men and intervenes to save Bat Lash from a dangerous wagon loaded with dynamite. Her actions earn the crowd’s respect and deepen the contrast between her and Hex. The standoff shifts as the townspeople realize they might win with her help.

That night, Hex’s men hijack a train carrying explosives intended to destroy the town’s fort. She distracts Hex to allow the townsfolk to retrieve essential supplies, while a plan unfolds to derail the attack. Lash tries to evacuate the townspeople as the danger escalates, and Hex kills Lash in the melee. Enraged, the woman defeats Hex before slipping away.

A mercenary is taken as a slave by Warlord Travis Morgan in Skartaris. The mercenary offers to guide Morgan and his army to Deimos's castle in exchange for freedom and gold. Their expedition is attacked by monsters, during which Mariah Romanova is captured and Machiste is killed.

Inside Deimos’s castle, a throne room scene reveals treasure and a slave woman shackled to a throne alongside Mariah and the mercenary. The group fights Deimos through a series of death traps and victory seems possible as they push back the wizard.

After a grueling battle, the mercenary, Morgan, Mariah, and the slave woman defeat Deimos and flee the castle. They realize they must find a way home and locate a portal for their return. The castle's corridors echo with the search for a means back to their world.

In Grovers Mill, federal agents Clark Kent and King Faraday investigate reports of a crashed UFO. They meet state trooper Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince, along with other witnesses, in a diner where an eerie music is heard by them but not others. The diners are revealed to be White Martians pursuing them.

The group pursues the Martians to the crashed UFO, where the illusion collapses and only Kent, Wayne, Prince, Faraday, and the Martian remain real. They discover a Green Martian among them and learn that a prisoner is guiding their escape. The revelation unsettles the group as the true plan comes into focus.

J'onn J'onzz explains that he has been using telepathic abilities to project illusions on Warworld, a planet-destroying artificial world. He reveals their captors used a Zeta-beam teleporter to bring them there and that he has been trying to guide them back to reality. The group contemplates escape and return home.

Lobo betrays Mongul as he is about to execute J'onzz, changing the course of the confrontation. The betrayal sparks a chaotic scramble as the heroes prepare to intervene. Tensions rise as loyalties shift in the fight for control of Warworld.

Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman reclaim their costumes and fight their way to Mongul's throne room. J'onzz merges with a White Martian, revealing that the two halves of Warworld's key are hidden in the DNA of both Martian races. The trio and Martian ally press the battle toward the key's discovery.

Using the two halves of the key, J'onzz activates Warworld's self-destruct sequence. The planet-destroying machine begins to collapse as the heroes race to escape. The fate of Warworld hangs in the balance as the crisis looms.

A mysterious woman rescues Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman and teleports them to safety at the Monitor's satellite. The escape marks a narrow victory as Warworld seems doomed. The woman hints that Crisis is coming, signaling future events.

Warworld explodes, a grim reminder that greater threats loom on the horizon. The rescue and the impending Crisis escalate the stakes for heroes across the cosmos. The sequence closes with a foreboding sense of upcoming upheaval.
