Nate Johnson and his son DJ arrive at an auto body shop in Los Angeles to retrieve Nate's Lincoln Navigator. To their surprise, the Navigator has been upgraded into an extravagant and flashy vehicle, which Nate is initially hesitant to accept.

Just before leaving for their road trip, Nate receives a phone call from his disapproving mother, Glorietta. The conversation becomes tense as Nate's older brother, Mack, attempts to overshadow him by catering to their mother's materialistic preferences.
