The film opens with Gajraj Chaudhry ordering Karan to kill a journalist who writes against him. In a crowded marketplace, Karan corners the journalist and carries out the hit while Kajal Sharma and her father Professor Sidhant Sharma witness the chaos. The brutal act establishes the dangerous world that will entangle Kajal, Sidhant, and Karan.

Karan breaks into Kajal and Sidhant's home to finish the job, but Kajal confronts him with a slap that stops him in his tracks. The clash ends with an intense eye contact that seems to trap Karan emotionally, even as he retreats into the night. Kajal is left shaken and curious about the intruder who unsettled her family.

Karan seeks out Tulsi, a courtesan who loves him, but he keeps his distance as memories surface. A flashback reveals that Karan grew up an orphan forced into crime, and he struggles to forget Kajal. He begins tailing Kajal from afar, unable to dissolve the image of her eyes.

Karan saves a child named Timepass from mistreatment at a bar, showing a softer side beneath his hardened exterior. The flashbacks of his orphaned life help him relate to Timepass, and he decides to take the boy in. He introduces Timepass to his circle of friends, and Timepass gratefully shares food with him.

While traveling by bus with Timepass and other women, the group is harassed and Karan steps in to protect them at the last moment. Kajal witnesses his courage and selflessness, which begins to soften her view of him. She starts to see him as more than just a danger to her family.

Kajal befriends Timepass and, through his stories, learns more about Karan's tough life and his capacity for care. She starts meeting Karan regularly and begins to understand the man behind the rough exterior. This growing connection becomes the emotional core of their evolving relationship.

Ramakant Sahay's son, Raju, is introduced as a carefree, flirtatious figure. It is revealed that a pact between Ramakant and Sidhant would have Kajal marry Raju when they came of age, setting up a conflict with Kajal's developing feelings for Karan. Kajal struggles with the looming arranged match.

Kajal confesses her love for Karan, shocking her father and the family. In response, Sidhant suffers a major heart attack, forcing them to confront the consequences of their choices. The revelation accelerates the family crisis and fuels Kajal's impending dilemma.

With her father's health failing, Kajal is compelled to marry Raju to honor the pact and stabilize the family. Karan learns of the arrangement and wishes to intervene, but his options are limited. Kajal's future seems sealed to a life she does not want.

Karan travels to Kajal's home and begs her to forget him and choose a safer life, but Kajal rejects him and chooses to honor her marriage to Raju. The two lovers drift further apart, while Karan remains trapped in his criminal world. The emotional distance hardens into a painful reality.

Kajal and Raju honeymoon in France, and upon returning she discovers she is pregnant after fainting during a confrontation about Raju's father's illegal business. The couple realizes their child would grow up in a dangerous world, prompting thoughts of safety and escape from Ramakant's influence.

Gajraj orders Karan to kill Raju, fearing the child and Kajal's future. Instead, Karan travels to Raju's house, encounters Kajal, and decides to protect Raju for Kajal's sake. This marks a decisive shift in Karan's loyalties and resolve.

Raju is attacked by hitmen but is rescued by Karan, who earns Kajal's trust. Kajal apologizes to Karan for the past, and Raju shows understanding and respect for Kajal's history and Karan's role. The trio's bond grows stronger amid ongoing danger.

Gajraj's goons close in while Kajal goes into labor. The group seeks refuge at Tulsi's place, where Timepass gives Karan a gun and Karan kills Gajraj in a final act of sacrifice. Kajal gives birth to a boy at the same moment, sealing Karan's ultimate sacrifice.

In the aftermath, Raju holds the newborn son as Kajal whispers the name 'Karan', memorializing the man who protected them. The film ends on a bittersweet note, with the child carrying Karan's legacy and Kajal's love for him living on.
