J.D.’s Revenge

Ike Hendrix is a young law student who also drives a taxi in New Orleans and lives with his girlfriend Christella. A night out with friends Tony and Phyllis kicks off a series of unsettling events as he joins a hypnosis act.

During the same night, Ike participates in a hypnosis act and becomes an unwilling host for the restless spirit of J.D. Walker. The possession begins to alter his behavior and strains his relationship with Christella.

Ike finds himself increasingly inhabited by J.D., absorbing his memories, hair and fashion, and adopting his psychotic tendencies. The influence grows stronger and threatens those around him, including Christella.

J.D. recalls the fateful 1942 night at the meat plant when his sister Betty Jo was murdered by Theotis Bliss and he was killed soon after. The memory reveals the roots of J.D.'s vendetta and the brutality of their world.

Under Ike's body, J.D. befriends Theotis' family and begins pursuing Roberta, weaving the past into the present as he draws nearer to his sister's daughter. His manipulation sets up the climactic confrontation.

Theotis, wary of Ike's strange behavior, sends goons to threaten him. The tension escalates as Ike's condition becomes more unstable and the danger to those around him grows.

Christella's parents consult her ex-husband Carl, a cop, who believes Ike is a dangerous psycho in disguise. The case adds official scrutiny and pressure to uncover Ike's true nature.

J.D., inhabiting Ike's body, goes home with a woman named Sheryl and ends up assaulting her husband with a straight razor when confronted about the affair. The brutality demonstrates J.D.'s stolen persona at work.

After a series of disturbing church encounters, J.D. reveals his true identity to Elija, who has renounced gangster life for faith. They plan to lure Theotis to the meat plant for the confrontation.

Elija agrees to the plan to test J.D.'s vengeance and directs Theotis to meet him at the site where Betty Jo and J.D. were killed. The plan is meant to end J.D.'s possession and expose the truth.

J.D. remembers how Betty Jo's affair with Theotis led to the murder and how Elija's presence complicated the case. The truth about Roberta's paternity and Betty Jo's fate comes into focus, muddying loyalties.

The meeting at the meat plant culminates in a confrontation where Theotis is brought to justice, and a crucial truth about the family is laid bare. Theotis attempts to shoot J.D., but Elija accidentally discharges and kills Theotis, ending the immediate threat.

Ike and Roberta are brought to the police as Elija mourns the murder of his brother. He later visits the precinct to claim Theotis’ death was accidental and frames the possession as a divine act guiding Ike.

Ike is allowed to go free and rejoins Christella and their friends, though he remains wary that J.D. could return. Roberta reconciles with Elija and continues to acknowledge him as her father, closing the night with a fragile peace.
