Seventeen‑year‑old Oliver Rother expresses himself through hip‑hop lyrics. After his teacher Selma Vollrath gives a failing grade to his rap‑style “Werther” essay, he storms out, leaving a note that threatens to kill her in a harsh song. The school, fearing a shooter, calls police, who find violent videos on his computer; because Oliver does not clearly repudiate the threats, the incident quickly escalates into a dramatic confrontation.
