I Married a Monster from Outer Space

One year into marriage, Marge Farrell grows despondent as Bill remains cold and distant. He shows no affection toward her or the new dog, a surprise anniversary present. The dog snarls at him and he retaliates by killing it in the basement, claiming it died by strangulation from its collar while pulling on its tether.

After a series of medical tests, the doctor confirms that Marge can have children. He suggests that Bill come in to be tested as well, to investigate their fertility as a couple. The news heightens Marge's unease about their marriage.

Marge notices that other husbands in their social circle behave the same way—distant and unloving toward their wives and families. She becomes increasingly alarmed as the pattern seems more widespread than Bill alone.

One night Marge follows Bill as he leaves for a long walk and heads into a secluded area in the woods. There she witnesses that his body is inhabited by an alien life form, which leaves Bill's shell and enters a hidden spaceship.

Marge tries to warn others, but she finds that too many men have already been taken over. The town's Chief of Police is among the aliens, and even when she reports her story, the police offer no help.

Back at home, Bill explains the extraterrestrial plan: their race has extinct females and they intend to breed with Earth's women by taking over human men. He admits they had not foreseen that inhabiting human memories would awaken feelings of love. The revelation shocks Marge and confirms that the danger goes beyond their town.

Marge's doctor believes her story and gathers a posse of men who cannot be disguised aliens because they have fathered children. They prepare to confront the alien threat and rescue the human captives.

The posse attacks the aliens in their hidden spaceship. Bullets cannot pierce the invaders due to a protective barrier, but the German Shepherd dogs prove effective in stopping them. The confrontation exposes the aliens' vulnerability and strategy.

Inside the ship, the human male captives are unconscious but alive, connected to devices that allow aliens to inhabit their bodies while keeping the humans alive in faux shells. The extent of the invasion becomes painfully clear to the rescuers.

The posse begins disconnecting the captives, which kills the aliens one by one. Before his faux body expires, the alien occupying the Chief of Police broadcasts a warning to his people in orbit that they have been discovered.

A fleet of alien spaceships is seen leaving Earth space, signaling retreat after their plan has been exposed. The departure implies they will seek breeding opportunities on other worlds.

The humans who were disconnected from the ship are escorted out alive just before the craft explodes, and Marge is reunited with Bill. The victory is bittersweet as the threat has been revealed and contained for now.
