House of Dust

At the Redding House Asylum, a psychiatrist conducts experiments after killing Billy Brown. He targets Melvin Veman and Levius Laitura; with Levius still alive, the orderlies place all three bodies in the crematorium to burn.

Fifty years after the events, Camden College student Dylan tells his girlfriend Gabby and roommate Kolt about the abandoned asylum's haunted history. A new student, Emma, moves in as Gabby's roommate. Kolt takes a liking to her, while Allyson, Christine, and Blythe keep their distance.

They break into Redding House after a party to explore, despite a warning from campus security guard Clyde. Emma experiences strange experiences while exploring alone.

They knock over a container of cremated ashes and inhale the dust of the three men burned there in 1951. The dusty release unsettles them and ties the old tragedy to the present.

Back in the dorm, Emma, a recovering psychiatric patient, begins experiencing haunting visions. The others' behavior changes as Billy possesses Dylan, Melvin inhabits Gabby, and Levius takes control of Kolt.

Allyson is killed by an unseen assailant while doing laundry. The disappearances deepen the sense that the asylum's past still reaches the campus.

Christine is later killed while taking her dog outside. The attacks heighten the group’s fear that the asylum's malevolent influence has followed them.

Suspecting the disappearances are related to the asylum, Emma tries to go back. Clyde prevents her from returning, blocking her investigation.

With Levius in full control of Kolt, he attacks Emma. The assault pushes Emma toward a desperate flight from the campus.

Emma flees into the asylum and confirms her suspicions when she examines patient records and finds the empty urn knocked over by the others. She then discovers the bodies of Allyson, Christine, and Blythe.

Kolt captures Emma, but Dylan knocks him unconscious and also knocks Emma out. Dylan then locks both Kolt and Gabby in the crematorium.

Emma recovers and frees Kolt and Gabby from the fire, which releases everyone from their possession. Dylan coughs up Billy's spirit as well.

The four students escape Redding House with Clyde's assistance. They manage to leave the building as danger subsides.

The crematorium dust travels up the chimney and into the air, eventually possessing a little boy playing in a park nearby. The haunting legacy seems to reach beyond the immediate group.
