Kinley arrives in a quiet valley to unravel the mystery surrounding the abbess's disappearance and death. His number one suspect is Choden, rumored to be a demoness who has vanished. The village rumor mill clashes with Kinley's budding determination to uncover the truth.

The village police chief orders Kinley to go undercover and search for Choden, seeking to extract information about the abbess's fate. Kinley must hide his police role and blend in as a regular traveler.

Jampa drops a startling hint that the bus Choden will ride might be the one Kinley himself boards. The clue tightens the link between Kinley's mission and the route they share.

Disguised in plain clothes, Kinley travels on the same bus as Choden. At a rest stop, she approaches him and asks him to accompany her on foot to their destination, claiming to be his husband to deflect pursuers.

What follows are days of trekking through the jungle. Choden answers Kinley’s questions with parables that feel ancient and uncanny: a nun who does not stop meditating even as stones are thrown, an abbess who turns invading soldiers into pigs, and a nun who continues meditating after death, transforming into a rainbow. These tales deepen the mystery and hint at a larger, almost magical world shadowing the investigation.

Back in Kinley’s home, the pair stay under one roof, and he must hide evidence of his police role. A fragile bond begins to form, but Choden leaves without a word, leaving Kinley unsettled and more determined. The unresolved departure intensifies Kinley’s resolve to continue.

The chief accuses Kinley of nursing romantic feelings and orders him to quit the case. Kinley stubbornly presses on, driven by a sense of duty and doubt in equal measure.

Kinley learns the abbess's nunnery sits atop a valuable mineral deposit. He tracks Norbu, the geologist who uncovered the treasure, only to find that Norbu has a rock-solid alibi.

A subsequent encounter with Choden on the street reveals that the abbess is alive, hidden away. Kinley processes the twist and shifts his focus to pursuing the doctor who treated Norbu. This revelation reframes the case from a search for a dead leader to uncovering a cover-up.

Kinley discovers that hospital records have vanished, leaving only fragmented clues. He notices a doctor's ringtone that matches one heard at the crime scene, connecting the doctor to the investigation. The absence of records suggests deliberate tampering.

Choden arranges a meeting with the doctor, and Kinley alerts the chief so an arrest can be made. Kinley soon realizes the chief is colluding with the doctor to seize the land deed to the nunnery.

Kinley hurries to intervene and rescue Choden, but both are knocked unconscious. In a twist, Choden reveals that the land deed everyone has sought was sewn into the seam of Kinley’s clothes the entire time. Choden disappears again, leaving Kinley stunned.

Kinley returns to the village to face a final truth: the abbess had died two years earlier, and her body was kept secret. The nuns reveal the body had transformed into a rainbow, suggesting a supernatural or symbolic end rather than a simple death.

The film closes with Kinley reflecting on the tangled truths behind superstition, treasure, and power. He leaves the valley with more questions than answers, the rainbow transformation and land deed mystery echoing in his mind.
