Here Comes Peter Cottontail: The Movie

Colonel Wellington B. Bunny names Peter as his successor, and Peter accepts the role, dreaming of becoming Chief Easter Bunny. He begins preparing for his duties in April Valley.

Irontail reveals his plan to become Chief Easter Bunny and launches a contest to deliver the most eggs according to April Valley's Constitution. He intends to use the contest to seize power and ruin Easter for children.

Irontail sneaks into Peter's house and feeds the rooster magic bubblegum, sealing the rooster's beak. Peter sleeps through the day, missing the early warnings and the chance to deliver eggs.

Irontail attempts to deliver eggs all day but succeeds only once. With Peter absent, Irontail is proclaimed the Chief Easter Bunny and begins implementing his ruinous plans.

As Chief, Irontail passes decrees that ruin Easter: painting eggs brown and gray, ordering grotesque candies, and replacing bonnets with Easter galoshes. The valley slides toward chaos as a result.

Ashamed, Peter leaves April Valley to seek a way to repair Easter. He meets Seymour Sassafras, an eccentric inventor who provides colors for the egg painters from his Garden of Surprises.

Sassafras introduces the Yestermorrowbile, a time machine piloted by a French caterpillar named Antoine. They plan to travel back to Easter to deliver the eggs, win the contest, and defeat Irontail.

Irontail learns of the plan and sabotages the Yestermorrowbile by sending a spider, preventing a backward return and forcing Peter and Antoine to adapt their trip to other holidays.

On the 4th of July, Peter paints the eggs red, white, and blue and tries to pass them off as firecrackers, but the ruse fails. On Halloween, he gives Madame Esmeralda a Halloween egg, and Irontail sends Montresor to steal his eggs.

During Christmas Eve, Peter trades his Christmas eggs for Bonnie, a long-estranged Easter bonnet. Irontail steals them again, but Santa eventually returns the eggs to Peter.

On Valentine's Day, Peter meets Donna and gives her a Valentine egg. Irontail casts a spell turning all the eggs green, inside and out, souring Peter's mood and resolve.

After the green-egg spell, Peter fails again to deliver eggs on Presidents' Day, reinforcing his vow to be more honest and responsible.

On St. Patrick's Day, Peter regains his focus, delivers the eggs, wins the contest, and becomes Chief Easter Bunny. Antoine returns as a butterfly, and Irontail ends up the janitor of April Valley as Peter leads a parade.
