A boy named George, Nick Fuoco, is magically transformed into a pig. In a dangerous and wild adventure, the boy’s sister Kathy Caldwell, Scarlett Johansson, his best friend Freud, [Alex D. Linz], and their housekeeper Matilda, Eva Mendes, set out for Mexico to try to undo the witchcraft spell before their parents return from their Paris trip.

While gathering ingredients for Matilda’s grandmother, Berta, Renee Victor, to undo the spell, Kathy grows impatient and after insulting both Matilda and Berta, storms off into town. There she befriends two Mexican girls who speak English and have satellite TV, a detail that adds a hint of comic relief to the tense mission.

Meanwhile, Freud accidentally loses George to Edwardo, Marco Rodríguez, a harsh and intimidating butcher, triggering a frantic effort to recover the boy before the danger escalates. With Kathy and her friends in tow, they mount a risky rescue operation that draws the ire of Edwardo and spurs him to pursue them.

Together they race toward a remote destination sought for its magic, reaching Coyote Mountain under a full moon, where a carefully prepared potion promises to reverse the transformation and return George to his human shape. The tension rises as the pursuit tightens, and the group navigates the delicate balance between fear and determination, aiming to complete the ritual before time runs out.

Yet the path to restoration is not straightforward. Edwardo trails them, and as the rites begin, Matilda and Berta seize the moment to administer the potion in a surprising twist: Edwardo is turned into a vulture, while George is finally returned to his normal form. The ordeal culminates in a cautious homecoming, where the family pretends nothing has happened—the only visible reminder of their extraordinary journey is that George still has a pig’s tail.

Q1

Why was George turned into a pig?

A.

Q2

Why does Kathy insult Matilda and Berta and storm off?

A.

Kathy grows impatient while gathering ingredients at Berta's house in Mexico. Her frustration with the mission's slow progress leads her to insult both Matilda and Berta before storming into town. This outburst creates tension within the group but ultimately doesn't stop the quest to save George.

Q3

How does Freud accidentally lose George to the butcher?

A.

While Freud is presumably caring for George (who is now a pig), he makes a mistake that allows the pig to be taken by Edwardo, a threatening butcher in town. This loss triggers a dangerous rescue mission and puts the group on a collision course with the antagonistic butcher.

Q4

Why do they need to go to Coyote Mountain under a full moon?

A.

Coyote Mountain is the location where the magical reversal ritual must take place. The full moon is essential because the potion's magic is only powerful enough to work during this specific lunar phase. The group races there to perform the ritual before time runs out.

Q5

How does the potion reverse George's transformation?

A.

Matilda's grandmother Berta provides the special ingredients needed for the counter-spell. The potion is prepared at Coyote Mountain during the full moon. When administered during the ritual, it undoes the witchcraft spell that turned George into a pig, restoring him to his human form.

Q6

Why is Edwardo turned into a vulture instead of George?

A.

During the ritual at Coyote Mountain, Matilda and Berta seize the opportunity to use the potion against Edwardo, who has been pursuing them. They deliberately give the potion to Edwardo, turning him into a vulture, while simultaneously George's own transformation is reversed, though the exact mechanism of this dual effect is part of the movie's magical logic.

The foreshadowing is subtle, as the team prepares for a restoration ritual but executes a surprising counterattack on their pursuer.

Q7

Why does George still have a pig's tail at the end?

A.

After the potion restores George to human form, he still retains a pig's tail as a lingering reminder of his transformation. This humorous detail serves as the story's final comedic note, showing that even though the main transformation was reversed, not every trace of the magic was completely erased.

Q8

Why does the family pretend nothing happened when they return home?

A.

The family chooses to act like nothing unusual occurred when they return home. This allows them to resume their normal life and keeps the extraordinary adventure secret. The pig's tail is the only visible evidence left of their magical journey.

Q9

How does Matilda's grandmother Berta know how to reverse the spell?

A.
