Chandru, who works in a flower shop, tries to woo girls but fails to start a relationship. He schemes to present Gayathri's friend as his girlfriend to his teasing friends. He invites Gayathri and her friends to the temple with this plan, hoping to introduce her as his partner.

Gayathri does not turn up as planned, so Chandru improvises at the temple by pointing to a girl in the crowd and pretending to be in frequent phone contact with her. He is still trying to keep up the illusion of having a girlfriend to silence his friends. The scene shows the pressure he faces from his social circle.

Suresh, Charle's friend, comes to Chennai to pursue a marriage proposal and is introduced to Chandru. The two quickly form a friendship as they navigate each other's hopes and expectations. Their bond sets up the involvement of Swetha later in the story.

Chandru, Suresh, and Chandru's friends go to meet Swetha and learn that she is in love with Chandru. Suresh feels uncomfortable about the situation because his visit was for a marriage proposal, not to challenge Chandru's relationship. Chandru visits the hospital to check on his friends and meets Gayathri, who reveals that she and Swetha are friends. Gayathri explains Swetha's poisoning, and Chandru feels guilty about the fiascos in Swetha's home. This marks a turning point in his responsibility toward Swetha.

With Gayathri's assistance, Chandru is introduced to Swetha but does not reveal the full truth of his feelings. The two begin to build trust and slowly form a friendship, while still keeping his deception guarded.
