Hellgate

Pam, Bobby, and Chuck wait for Matt at a remote cabin in the Sierra Nevada. Bobby recounts the Hellgate hitchhiker legend—the ghost of Josie Carlyle, the mining magnate's daughter. He explains that a crystal from an abandoned mine reanimated Josie's corpse and started haunting anything it touches.

Matt stops at the diner where Josie was abducted years earlier and asks the waitress for directions. He encounters Josie on the road and offers her a ride, unaware she is a ghost. They drive toward Hellgate and stop at the Carlyle mansion, where Josie seduces him until Lucas appears with the crystal and Matt flees.

Back at the cabin, Matt recounts the encounter to Bobby, Pam, and Chuck, and the group's unease grows. They decide to learn more by visiting the local diner for coffee. In an abandoned car shop next door, they find a newspaper article about Buzz's disappearance and are warned by Zonk not to return to Hellgate.

Against Zonk's warnings, the group drives to Hellgate to investigate. They locate Josie's grave in the cemetery and are surrounded by ghostly townsfolk. In a nearby dance hall, Josie appears naked on a stage as other specters dance with empty couples.

Lucas calls on the crystal's power and brings the deceased residents of Hellgate back to life. The revived dead attack Matt, Pam, Chuck, and Bobby in a chaotic onslaught. During the assault, Lucas decapitates Chuck.

Bobby and Chuck retreat toward their car but are confronted by Lucas wielding the crystal. Chuck is killed, leaving Bobby to contend with the spectral threat alone. Bobby later experiences a ghostly pianist performing in a saloon.

Matt and Pam arrive and find Bobby in the saloon under the ghosts’ spell. They decide to fetch help, while Bobby refuses to leave the haunted building. The group realizes the danger is closing in as more apparitions appear.

Matt and Pam go to the Carlyle mansion to find a telephone, but the call is cut off when Matt reaches the police station. Josie lures Matt upstairs and seduces him again, before Pam arrives and shoots Josie with a rifle, causing her to fall from a window. Matt and Pam flee the mansion and are soon joined by Bobby and Chuck, now undead, in their Jeep.

Outside, Bobby and Chuck are now zombies in the Jeep as Matt and Pam attempt to escape the town's curse. The undead duo ride along with the living group, increasing the sense of peril. The Ghost Town of Hellgate presses in from every direction as they drive.

Matt and Pam escape in Josie's vintage car, with Lucas clinging to the roof. Lucas tries to attack using the crystal, but Matt crashes into a building, throwing him off and triggering a collapse that kills Lucas. The couple drives away from Hellgate, leaving the town to its ghosts.

Josie wanders the silent streets of Hellgate as the surviving trio escapes the cursed town. The ghost town remains a haunting backdrop for their narrowly earned freedom. The final image lingers on the spectral figure still wandering among the ruins.
