Heart of a Dog

A weary stray dog, Sharik, wanders a post-revolution Moscow still adjusting to the new order. His path crosses a renowned surgeon and professor, [Professor Philippovich Preobrazhensky], who needs a companion and a testing subject in equal measure. Inside, the procedure is swift and radical: a pituitary gland and the testicles of a recently deceased alcoholic and petty criminal are implanted into Sharik, setting in motion a dramatic change that blurs the line between animal and human.
