Shen Mo, Teng Shen, loves acting and has used his talent to help the police solve many cases with his keen performances. During a routine physical examination, he discovers he is terminally ill. With time running out, he begins to reflect on the meaning of life in a way he never has before and decides to stage a farewell of sorts through meaningful work in his final days.

Shen Mo and his partner Johnnie Kong Du Yu venture into a sprawling, layered community where crime hides in plain sight. They break into hidden fraud rings and counterfeit drug networks to gather evidence of the gangs' crimes, hoping to bring them to light and offer some justice in a world where art and truth intersect. Along the way, Shen Mo meets Ma Xiaoli, Ma Li, an optimistic and straightforward network host whose bright outlook and practical view of life draw him closer. He decides to include Ma Xiaoli in his plan, believing her presence and public image could help expose the corruption and protect the vulnerable.

An accident shifts the stakes. Du Yu falls for Xiao Wei, the lover of Long Ge, a powerful figure whose wealth and influence cast a long shadow. When Long Ge learns of the romance, he lashes out and hires the Japanese killer Henggang Yuanpeng to target Du Yu and Xiao Wei at a steep price. The danger escalates as Shen Mo and Ma Xiaoli find themselves pulled deeper into the criminal network and the risks they face intensify.

With danger closing in from all sides, the story explores how a life spent pursuing truth and a sense of purpose can redefine what really matters. The tension between performance and reality, loyalty and risk, drives the drama as Shen Mo confronts the limits of his health and the price of seeking justice in a world where crime runs deep.
