The National musical comedy follows rival press agents Jimmy Maxwell (John Payne) and Jo Allen (Mae Clarke), each hired to publicize separate expositions at the 1936 Texas Centennial. Jo pretends to be a schoolteacher to outsmart Jimmy; their rivalry soon blossoms into romance, set against lively song, dance and newsreel footage of the centennial.
