Sharath Yash is admitted to the hospital after an assault by a group of rowdies, and he receives special care from the doctors because he is a wealthy industrialist. He is accompanied by Swathi Kriti Kharbanda, who, a journalist later reveals, is his friend who helped them reach the hospital. Swathi donates her blood to Sharath, and the film shifts into a flashback to tell how their story began.

Swathi, a medical student from Mysore, travels to Bangalore to attend the Global Economy Forum hosted at the college where Sharath studies for an MBA. On the first day, she is surprised to learn that Sharath is highly regarded academically but disliked by many in the college. Her roommate describes him as a difficult, unapproachable man with strong opinions on love and life. At the forum, Sharath falters during a presentation, and Swathi helps wake him up; his unexpectedly witty and pointed speech earns him a place in the next round, as does Swathi herself. This initial encounter plants the seeds of interest: Sharath, who has long mocked the idea of love, becomes unsettled by Swathi’s presence, while she becomes intrigued by a man who outwardly despises sentiment but carries a sharp, perceptive mind.

As they spend more time together, Swathi sees that Sharath is not just aloof but deeply intelligent and direct. He, in turn, is drawn to her honesty, even as he clings to a belief that love is risky and often tied to money or motive. What begins as a wary attraction slowly turns into genuine affection. They start to fall in love, but Sharath’s growing suspicion of Swathi’s motives strains the relationship, and trust frays.

A turning point comes when Swathi is injured, and Sharath misreads Swathi’s friend as her boyfriend in the hospital. He reacts with anger, slapping Swathi, a moment that shocks him into reckoning with his own behavior. Rather than wallowing, he channels his energy into his career and rapidly rises as an entrepreneur over the next few years. The hard-edged, ambitious version of Sharath becomes his way of coping, but the ache of what he did lingers.

Eventually, he tries to mend things by calling Swathi on her birthday to apologize, only to learn that she has accepted an engagement with someone else. Heartbroken, Sharath returns to India for a friend’s wedding in Mangalore and unexpectedly encounters Swathi again. Through their conversations, he discovers that Swathi lied about her engagement to shield herself from heartbreak—she didn’t want to risk loving him again if he might leave.

Realizing they still have feelings for each other, they slowly fall back into a fragile reconciliation. Their reunion is interrupted when a North Indian gang, stirred up by Sharath’s earlier actions against those who tried to part couples, attacks him. Swathi donates more blood to stabilize him in the hospital, and the moment strains familial lines as Sharath’s mother scolds Swathi, who leaves without a word. With the help of media attention, Sharath locates her at a train station. Swathi claims she has lost her accessories and ticket, but Sharath reminds her that the true loss would be from a love left behind after all they’ve endured. Their resolve to stay together grows stronger, and they reconcile, choosing to face the future side by side.
